How do I stop IM spam in yahoo mail?

I know how to change the settings in the yahoo instant messenger to restrict IM's from only those on your list, but what about the IM's that come up when you're checking your yahoo mail?

Eventhough my settings in my YIM are set to list members only, I still get the spam IM's when I log into my yahoo mail.

Any ideas?
