How do I start talking to this girl?

There is this girl. I need to meet her. Sometimes I see her sitting alone at lunch for about 3 minutes but then her fag friends arrive. I dot know her name, relationship status, or anything about her. So how do I go about starting to talk to her so I can possibly ask her out in the future. I don't want to be creepy and just walk up to her and say hi. I'm in high school if that helps. Thanks a lot guys.
 
Grab the opportunity when she's eating alone. Ask if its okay if you sit beside her, just act normal then introduce yourself. If she's interested then maybe you can open up a topic to talk to. In that way, you can start your plan to date her out.
