How Do I sprint faster track and field?

I want to know how to apply my strength and my explosiveness to my running speed. I can squat 365, I have a 33 in vertical jump and I am 6'2". However, I can only run an 11.9 100m. My coach told me that I won't be running varsity until I can break that time. I want to know how to take longer or faster strides without slowing myself down. My coach also tells me that I need to get my hips forward and my knees up when I run.

You can practice running fast by doing strides, and find the best stride length for you.
If your stride is too long you will go slower not faster.
When sprinting the foot should contact the ground very slightly ahead of your body, coming rearward in a pawing motion.
You increase the stride length behind you, not in front.
when running, stand up straight, let your shoulders and arms relax, keep your elbows at 90 degrees and swing your arms straight front to back, not across your body.
Do not bend at the waist, do not lean forward, although the body will have about a 10 degree forward lean you should not feel this lean you should feel like you are standing upright.
