How do I siphon gas from MY CARS tank?

Modern cars actually have flaps and barriers inside the filler hose. This is actually to prevent people from stealing your gas! I have not had success with most newer vehicles trying to do this. You may be able to access the filler hose closer to the tank, remove it, and try again. Otherwise you would have to drop the fuel tank, or if you're junking the vehicle punch a hole in the tank (don't drill a hole or you could start on fire because of the sparks inside a drill!!).

It's a 91 Jeep Cherokee. The engine is history. I had just filled up the tank a few hours before the block cracked. Now, we need to know how to get the fuel back OUT of the tank.

If you can't get a hose in there, most cars have a rubber hose between the metal filler-neck and the tank itself. Take the clamp off and remove the rubber hose (might take some serious effort). You should then be able to get a hose in the opening. You may have to completely remove the filler-neck to do this.
