How do I shut off my iPhone if it was stolen?

I was at a concert on friday and got my iPhone stolen. I called the security at the venue but no one turned it in. I found out today that the person who stole it has been deleting my e-mails from the phone (at the time, it was not locked which was stupid, I know. It usually is.) I really would lie to somehow shut off the whole phone. Please, can someone help me?

Call AT&T they do whats called " black listing " this takes the code in the phone and flag's it a blocked . so if someone try's to activate it , it will come up as flagged & the person will not be able to use it for anything other than call's to 911 or 611 .
