How do I shoot expert in my Basic Rifle Marksmanship test?

36 or more out of 40. you can qualify expert without hitting any of the 300M targets since there are only 4 of them. my advice is if you miss a target thats not a 300m one, take a second shot at it. also put some chalk or rub a soft white rock against your front sight, since the targets are dark green they look black the further out they are, so that way your front sight will stand out instead of just blending in.
if for some reason you dont use the pop up targest and you just get this large sheet with different targets printed on it, you need 38, but expert at the pop up range is 36.

In all honesty, I think they do a pretty damn good job of teaching you in BCT, and if you have no prior experience that's better because you haven't been taught how to incorrectly hold a weapon. Being taught by someone else will just give you bad habits that you will have to learn how to correct later. Best to start with the Marine Corps way.

My husband went to BCT having ZERO experience with actually shooting a weapon, and qualified as an expert marksman.

The first time you shoot your gun will be a grouping exercise at 36 yards, because the bullet at 36 yards is in the same place it would be at 300 yards. Then you'll shoot it at 100, 300, and 500 yards

They will teach you the things you need to know to be able to perform to the best of your ability. It is up to you to use those techniques. Always pull the trigger on the end of an exhale.

bare minimum is 23 out of 40 just to pass 38 out of 40 for expert Stay calm plenty of time dont rush.
