I have a Motorola surfboard Router on Virgin Media, and have now bought a laptop with wifi. I have connected Belkin wifi router/4point switch to the motorola using a network cable. From my laptop I can see the Belkin, The Motorola and I can print to my wifi HP printer, but can only get the internet when I use another network cable from my laptop to the Belkin. The motorola is the DHCP server with the address is 192.168.100.1 with the DHCP dynamic address 192.168.100.11-42. I set the Belkin's address to 192.168.100.5 and turned off the the DHCP server. Can anyone please tell me why I can get internet access from my laptop using the cable but not through the wifi, when I can see all other parts of the network through wifi. The firewall dose not make any difference if I turn it on or off.
