How do I set my whole picture for my wallpaper on my HTC desire?

How do I set my whole picture for my wallpaper on my HTC desire? Instead of just a cropped portion? Like it only let's me have a portion of my picture but I want to use the whole picture. How do I use the entire picture?? Please help I'm very agitated and wanna break this "nice" new Droid.
