How do I save/set ringtone on my Droid HTC once I've received the file in a text?

I'm trying to set a ringtone to my Droid HTC phone. I've received the files via text but cannot figure out how to set it as a ringtone. The phone does not come with a user manual that has much info at all. Any current owner of this phone know how to tell me how to change my ringtone so a new tone (one that doesnt COME with the phone)
