How do i retrive information, I gave out when i first started using the internet?

I am still green, But i had a computer rebuilt, she said she be glad to come out and set it up for me, ask what did i owe she replied nothing,We no longer speak, I have changed computers my Question is how do i Keep my information private? I have tryed several diffent things, One thing was a page sending her a notice, She said she had never recived it.t. Can anyone relate to this situation? Any type of anwser would be greatly apppicated.I am going to browse Q"s now see if i can help someone. TY for your time
