How do i reset the factory alarm 98' ford explorer?

Alright, my brother tried to hook up the alarm siren horn thingy with the stereo system. While does this he cut the wires. It did not work out, so he put the wires back together and secured it with electrical tape. Now, the car does not make the beep noise when i hit the unlock button, the alarm does not go off when i open the door when i activiate alarm, i have to kill switch it everytime to start it up. But the panic alarm still works. it is 98 ford explorer factory alarm system.
HOW DO I FIX THIS !!
