The cable runs through the engine with the harness.
It is corroded and I cannot cut it off any shorter.
I added a new length, buthte corrosion must be throughout the length and keeps needing to be cut shorter.
The dealer wants 1700 USD just for the harness.
I would like to know if I can bypass the cable and connect the battery to the termination point or is it connected to other electrical components along the harness?
Thanks KB

Typically, the cable will either run straight to he starter, or to the fuse box in the engine compartment. Either way, just find where it runs to and run your own cable. Just zip-tie it to the harness, so it's out of the way. Leaving the unused cable in the wiring loom wont do any harm.
