How do i remove the steering gear from the steering shaft in my 92 dodge dakota?

I already removed the tie rods and need to get the steering shaft seperated so i can remove the rack and pinion from my truck. It leaks. It appears as though it is held together with a roll pin, not a nut and bolt. I cannot just punch it out. Is there a trick to it?
