How do i remove the Reigster for Data service screen for sidekick?

i have the sidekick08 and no, i dont have the plan. But when i turn on my phone it gets annoying to see the data service registration, i was able to remove the registration screen by changing my settings,but i did a hard reset and Now i forgot how to?
does anyone know how?
p.s. I am not gonna waste 54 dollars just to get that off my screen and to make my phone ring when i recieve a text.
