How do I remove the battery from a Panasonic 3CCD AG-DVX100B?

I'm borrowing this camera from a friend of mine, and he told me how to do everything except remove the battery to charge it. It seems like it would be simple enough, but somehow I can't figure it out and brute force seems like a bad idea. Is there some button I'm not seeing? I'm completely unfamiliar with cameras, so assume you're talking to a complete idiot (because you are). I know where the battery is, just not how to take it out correctly.
 
It's located at the back of the cam. Just lift up the Viewfinder (the eye piece). The battery is under it.
