How do I Remove a threaded headset on a road bike?

I have just bought a fixed wheel bike, but i want some front brakes so im changing the forks from an old bike of mine to this new one as they are drilled. but i cant get the forks of the bike. I have undone all the things i can and now it just seams the stem and the forks are stuck together
