Hi! On Youtube I have a web show called ask Jamick. I used to have an old computer (Emac) with an older version of iMovie. I would take the movies when I was done with then and, convert them in Quicktime movie files. My movies when converted would range from 2-14 Mega Bites(MB). These files had music and sometimes special effects. Recently I got an iMac to replace my Laptop(Emac). It came with iMovie 08. An upgraded version of iMovie. So I made two movies on this new version. One was about 7 minutes 30 seconds and, the other about 10 minutes. Both files were taking longer to upload unto Youtube. I looked at how big the file was and I was shocked!!!! My 10 minute movie was 356 MB!!!!!!!!!!!! The movie mostly consisted of me using the built in iSight(Web cam thing) thats in the movie program. And an intro music that I cut for title length. And then some end tiles.
I have 2 questions. #1: Is there a way to reduce converted file sizes?(from imovie to quick time)
#2: Is it possible to take my old version of iMovie from laptop(Via Exernal Hard Drive) and replace it with my current one. OR even have both on one computer?
Note: I know that iMovie 08 has a feature that lets you upload movie from the movie maker itself. I like to have the movie converted into Quick Time files so I can save them in case my account is hacked or taken down on Youtube.
ANOTHER NOTE!!!!!!: I know how to scroll to the share option and click convert to Quick time!! I am asking if there is a way to reduce the file size without reducing movie quality!
