How do I put MY television shows on my ipod nano?

I have a season of Spongebob, plus some Seinfeld, etc., and I would like to put them on my ipod, but I have no idea how. All that I am able to do is pop the DVD into the disk drive. Please help A.S.A.P. Thank you in advance!
