How do i put a mazda 626 starter in?

Get a Chilton or Haynes manual for your car. It will have the information you need.

Disconnect the ground (-) connection at the battery FIRST. Make sure the cable end doesn't accidentally come in contact with the battery terminal during your work, otherwise you could blow up the battery and spray acid everywhere...... very BAD!

Once the battery's disconnected, you can go ahead and unbolt the wiring connections at the starter. Make a mental note, or draw on paper, how the wiring connections go. If you make a mistake connecting it back up, you could cause damage to the cars electrical system. There will be two or three bolts actually holding the starter in place. Remove them and hopefully the starter will come out. This is where the repair manual comes in handy. If there's something else in the way that needs to be removed to get the starter out, the manual will tell you about it. Bolt the new starter in & connect the wires. Re-connect the battery cable and you're done. You might have to input a security code in your radio to get it to work again, and reset the electric clock & radio stations. Again, helpful info that should be in the Haynes manual.
Again I say- buy a repair manual with pictures in it. You'll be glad you did.
