How do I program the garage door opener on a 2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertible?

We checked the owners manual and we still couldn't get it to work. We have a new garage system with the "Learn Button". We got the cars memory to reset and we programed two of the automatic openers that came with the garage, but when it came to the cars built in opener, we couldnt get it to program. We would press and hold the learn button and then press the cars opener button 3 times, hold the car opener button and just about everything else. What can we do to program this thing?
