How do i prepare and cook trout?

my 6 year old went on a fishing field trip with his class today and caught a pretty good sized trout. he is determined to eat it but our family doesn't eat fish other than the occasional shrimp or lobster so i have no clue how to prepare it as far as scaling and de-boning, it has been gutted though.

as far as cooking i was thinking the easiest way would be to season it with salt, pepper and dredge it in flour and fry it in a little butter and olive oil, if you have a better suggestion please let me know but my main concern is the scaling and de-boning.
