how do i politley tell my boyfriend he whines too much?

he thinks hes cute when he acts like a little boy, and then he starts to whine about things and complains.i honestly do love him, but thats the one thing i just cant stand =/ how can i tell him this politley?
 
My boyfriend use to do that. I was so tired of it that I finally said to him "Sweetie you can't pull it off, stop trying." I said it in a teasing way and kissed him. He was fine with it and never did it again. Use a light tone with him and don't make it into this serious thing. He will think you're kidding, but really just stop.
