i just picked up an old 350 chevy engine for my '76 chevy cheyenne stepside. what is a good, inexpensive way to paint the heads and the block? (going w/ the standard chevy orange)...

Check out Summit Racing's website, and I would recommend Dupli-Color Chevy Orange...they have pretty much everything you need for block, heads, intake manifold, and high temp silver for stock manifolds.

If the heads are pulled, I use masking tape to protect the internals and use a high temp engine paint and spray the heads. The block would be the same way as long as it was pulled from the body. Things like the valve covers can be removed and sprayed seperately.
