Ok, I'm planning to have a sea-themed wedding and I think that it would be really personal (and inexpensive) to paint everyone's names on stones that I would get from our local beach. They would double up as place names and as favours that people could take home. I was wondering if anyone knows how to do this? Should I be looking for any particular types of stones? Do I need to put some sort of base varnish on (I'm thinking like when you do your nails!) before painting the names on - otherwise will the paint not soak in? I don't want to paint over the colour of the stones so it would have to be something clear. Then, what sort of paint should I use to do the names? And, finally, should I use some special varnish to seal them? Will they need 'cooked'? To many questions - hopefully someone will be able to help
