How do I operate the choke on my 1999 ducati super sport? I know I should use...

...it on cold start up.? I guess what I really want to know is if i use the choke once to start the bike up in the morning, then take it for a long dive and let it sit for 2hrs to 3hrs should I use the choke again?
 
If you live somewhere warm (FL, CA) then probably not. If it's more temperate then use of the choke, just to start and for a minute or so is advisable, since it simply richens the fuel/air mixture to encourage engine warmup.
 
If you can, use partial chock. If it doesn't work (or if you can't use partial chock) don't use chock.
