How do I open a .swf file without using a internet browser?

At my school, all I have to do is double-click on the file and it opens in a separate Flash Player 10 window. I've already downloaded and installed Macromedia Flash Player 10 multiple times, but it still will only let me open the file (a flash game) in my internet browser. I have tried several converting programs and stand-alone programs and they didn't work. I am 'not' looking for other separate programs. I am 'not' looking for an answer that includes "install adobe flash player" or "open it in a browser'. I have tried to find the flash player executable so that I can add it to the list of 'Open With' in windows, but I cannot seem to find it. It is not in Windows\System32 or any of it's derivatives. I have appeared to find it, but when I add it to the list, it comes up with 'Adobe Flash Player Installer/Uninstaller 10.1 r53' under the list of programs and won't let me open it with that. What I'm looking for is to be able to open flash games (which can be opened in the aforementioned 'Flash Player 10' window on another computer) on my computer. Please and Thank-you.
