I own a start up company that imports and distributes chemical materials.
When I inquire about purchasing a chemical to a large company, the salesperson can immediately know I am inexperienced/beginner.
I said something like "I am inquiring about purchasing xxx metric tons of yyy (a petrochemical) per month, to import to zzz".
Then they try to impose harsh payment terms.
Is there a way to not sound like a noob when placing a buying inquiry? Is there chem lingos used by chemical products distributors/users/companies?
