How do I measure for a suit online? (UK)?

I've got the trouser sizes sussed out... for the jacket though i've no idea. There's no real measurement sizes on the website regarding inches or cm. It ranges from 36S - 48L... where on me do i need to measure to know what i am - and what are the size boundaries for each size?
