So I bought my mare 2 months ago and its taken her ages to settle in as she spent her whole life in one place, so when she was taken to me she was out of her comfort zone and couldn't even walk down the road without going into a complete panic. She's calmer now, but she can't walk in a feild, horse riders will know what I mean when I say, I feel her tensing up and jogging and almost like a bubble about to explode. She was vetted before she came to me, and all was clear so it wasnt a pain thing. Her old owner says it is her just out of her comfort zone. She is currently 9 and she has so much potential in her to go so far I'm just terribly worried if I take her to a show she won't be able to settle down and jump a course of jumps as she'll be all over the place with nerves as she is out of her surroundings.
Any ideas on how to get her used to different surroundings, so when I do show her, or even take her in a field, she wont tense up and turn herself inside out with nerves ? I am an English rider, not western
