i have a young australian cattle dog x kelpie. we used to have a big backyard for her to run around in but now live in a house with a small yard.
so that she gets a good amount of excersise i take her to this park with a 400m long path and i let her off the lead and she runs beside me while i ride my bike.
she's usually pretty good and listens but lately she just loses concentration and starts smelling something in the grass.
usually she'l come if i call her and ring the bike bell but now she just looks at me and keep's doing her own thing.
is it a phase she's going through at her age?? she's 17months old
usually i just ride straight towards her and she moves out of the way and loyally starts following me.
how do i teach her to come without having to ride up to her and herd her away from the stuff she smells? its getting very frustrating, if i get off my bike and walk to her she knows im not happy because her just sits and gives me the 'puppy dog' look, so why is she doing this if she understands its not good??
thanks for any advice
