Hello, i dont know much (ok i know near nothing) about photography but i recently got a cannon rebel xti. I was wondering exactly (like step by step or what buttons to push) how to make it so that it is blurry in the background and sharp on the object i want to take. I thought i heard it has to do with aperture but when i move the thing it just makes the picture either darker or over exposed.
P.S. i've looked at online things a little but they are kind of confusing to me and i have to go back and forth between photography definition websites and the instruction website and i just get lost.
