My friend has always been more curvy. She's definitely not fat, but she's not thin either. She's average...Healthy. She had meat on her bones.
Beginning of summer she started working out. Working out A LOT. Every morning. She'll wake up at like 5 in the morning and go to the gym before school. She loves it and says it gives her a lot more energy. She used to stay up really late (2 or 3 am), but now at the end of the day she can't wait to go to sleep because she's so tired. She's lost TONS of weight. You can definitely see a difference! It's fantastic! But, to me I'm thinking it's going too far. I've definitely heard you're not supposed to work out everyday. You're supposed to skip a day in between as to not strain yourself. To me, she looks very thin. Maybe just because I'm used to her being more heavy and seeing her this thin is a shock...But she also watches what she eats. In the morning she'll have a meal replacement drinks instead of breakfast (which she doesn't really eat anyway) and throughout the day for snacks, she'll have the less calories granola bars...you know the thinsation ones? She'll have a sandwich for lunch and I'm not too sure what she eats for dinner. But, she complained to me recently that she's starting to lose a lot of hair (her hair is already thin). I told her that she should take multivitamins because she might not be getting enough since cutting her food intake down. She agreed and said she'd ask her doctor which to take.
I guess I'm just worried about her. My cousin has an eating disorder and I fear any of my friends going through the same thing.
When should I start to take this seriously? How do I know when she's getting too thin?
