How do I know if there's enough air in the bicycle wheels?

I'm not an expert about bicycles, and hardly know anything about them, except the basics. I left my bicycle in the garage during the winter.. for about 4 months? And now, i'm not sure if there's enough air in it. I'm going to the gas station soon.
 
U pump the air in and the tire will ge bigger and wants it doesn't or cant go any more you pull the needle out and ride like the wind baby
 
look on the side of the tire it will give a minimum and maximum psi (pounds per square inch) get a pump with a gauge and pump till the gage reads the appropriate psi.
 
Try squeezing the tires, and it should be very hard. It depends on how heavy the person is who rides the bike. When you sit on it, it should withstain almost the same as when you squeezed the tires while not sitting on it.
 
don;t put in more than the max rated pressure [listed on the sidewall]

but you also don;t need to go to the max necessarily

if the rear tire bulges out slightly when seated, that;s enough

then put the same amount in the front.

Pruchase a airgage at any Walmart or auto parts store. If you ask someone in the department they can explain how it is used. Even better you could go to a bicycle shop and probably purchase one there ,and they can give you a deminstration rite there.
 
At 4 months in the garage, it will need some air. Press your thumb on the side wall, it should feel hard. Get a tire guage and read the tire pressure range on the side of the tire.
 
You have to go by the pressure rating on the sidewall of your tire. There IS NO rule of thumb that has to do with the bike's purpose. For example I have 4 road bikes and the tires all have a different maximum pressure embossed on the tires. (4 different brands of tires)
