The car will go into drive but will not go higher than first gear. That is if you keep the transmission sensor plugged in. However I had my mechanic replace the transmission which had a different sensor on it. Installed new transmission, still will not go past 1st gear. However as soon as you unplug that sensor, what do you know? The car goes into the different gears, begrudgingly of course. What could the problem be? Also in the 1997 Ford taurus the car has three solenoids that are in the "wall" of the transmission, those have been replaced as well. What is going on? This is costing more and more money. HELP!
