how do i know if my male betta fish ate his eggs?

he hangs out around his nest alot and sticks his mouth into it alot. its been two days but i dont see tales. did he eat them. how do i tell if there in there or not. this is my first time so im not sure. and if i need to breed them again then how long do i wait. i also dont have a heater so does that affect them.

give hm a another day or so. The main thing here is no heater. The water should be around 80 degrees F>young are more touchy about temperature then older fish. If he has eaten the eggs, i would try him once again and if happens again, then don't bred him.
