how do i know if my fuel pump is weak on my 1987 jeep xj?

i found muddy looking water in the fuel filter and i was wonder if my fuel pump is going out because it started missing bad and now it wont idel
 
It does not sound like the fuel pump. Sounds like water in the gasoline. Drain the tank and change the filters. You could have a rusty tank. If you want to test the pump, you need to disconnect it from the injectors and measure the volume it pumps out in a given amount of time. There are specs for this.
