Im in the middle of doing paper work to join the air force and the recruiter asked that if i have anything on my record. When i was 17 (nearly 18) I was sucker punched in the face (i wasnt the aggressor) and due to my high schools brilliant zero tolerance policy i was suspended and issued a infraction for DISTURBING THE PEACE. I was ordered to speak with on grounds sheriffs deputy and after explaining my side of the story, he wrote "Warning" across the ticket and stated that my presence at juvenile court is no longer needed.
Nearly a year went by and i went to the DMV to pick up a driving record for a prospective employer. On my record it stated I had a failure to appear in court over that same case. I went to the court house, spoke to the judge and it is supposively off my record now. Im 23 now and want to know whether or not im screwed or shouldnt even worry about the background check?
i have been polled over for a standard fix-it ticket (break light was out) after this snafu when i was 19 or 20. Wouldn't the officer of that case approach me of the prior if it was a problem as well?
