how do i know if i am suffering from vertigo

The other morning while driving to work on a very busy National Highway i suddenly experienced this sharp pain in my brain, (I do suffer from high blood pressure, but take my medicine every morning) 43 yrs old - My eyes became blurry and stayed for a few minutes. I got the fright of my life and pulled over with my body shaking almost uncontrollably, my body felt like it didn't belong to me and my friend said
