How do i know if a triangle will work?

So say i have 24 paperclips and i want to see how many triangles i can make.

How would i go about figuring this out?

divide 24 by 3 then count remainder

WEll to make a triangle requires 3 parts, so obviosuly 3 paper clips. You take 24 and divide it by 3.

The answer, therefore is 8.
