How do I kill a tree/bush in the back of a garden?

We have a tree or bush that is right by our water faucet and I have to keep cutting it once a week. It's at the back right corner or my garden and I don't want it to kill everything else I just want to get rid of the tree. I would like a home remedy or something cheap. Thanks!
I WISH I could set it on fire but (not positive) but I think it's under our house. It's atleast that close lol.

Chop it up and when it gets small enough dig it out and make sure you dont leave a stump or else it will either grow back from there or the stump will stay there and it will look ugly...you dont have to take out all the roots but get the main ones that are connected to the trunk of the tree :) good luckkk!

Cheap? Dig it out with a shovel and pick ax.

Easy? Use a product like Brush-B-Gone (not that expensive, actually)

Cheap and Easy and Not a good idea? Pour a little gasoline on it and set it on fire.

Best option. Dig it out. Shovel the dirt away from the main stem all around, then pry the bush out. If it is to deeply rooted to do it that way, take a hatchet and cut off the roots BELOW ground level as far as possible. It still could come back, but it is not likely.
