v6, my check engine light came? Repost -
I had a similar probem with a Ford Taurus 3.8L. It turned out to be a plugged Cat converter(rear) which sent hot gas up to the EGR and overheating the EGR and intake manifold.
On hot days it would lose power going up hills. Eventually, after 2 EGRs and melted sensors, I had it diagnosed at a muffler shop showing a purple color when running. I've seen some other posts saying to check it after running it hard and look for a "red" glow.
