How do i Jailbreak my iphone 3gs if have already had it unlocked by vodafone?

i have tried to using blackrain but it just brings it back to its original state, unlocked but no blackrain icon on my iphone. i still have 3.1.2 on mine and i dont want to restore/update to 3.1.3
