how do i install .prc files on a palm treo 755 from an sd card?

most websites say that once i plug in my sd card the applications should show up on the card menu but they don't i wait a while and the the menu still stays blank. is there something im doing wrong.

BTW do any of u know y stores don't sell mini sd cards anymore?
