how do i install flywheel on a pontiac 400 with no dowel hole?

I am converting my 1971 trans am to a 4 speed and i bought a new flywheel. every source i have explaining how to install the flywheels talks about lining the dowel hole in the flywheel up with the dowel hole in the crankshaft. my flywheel has no dowel hole though. what do i do just bolt it right on?
