Ok, so i know im not the only one with this problem, but ive tried everything i could find in other threads... And i do have dial up, so any advice for simply installing it directly off the disc without being connected to the internet would be greatly appreciated, although i know i need to be connected for code verification.
So i put the disk in, and follwed the instructions, and installed and updated Steam, with after minor problems. So i went to install ETW from steam, and it sticks for about an hour at a screen where it just says that its preparing files for installation, or something to that effect, (and something to do with a cache??) *i know that sounded stupid, but im sorry, im not very good with computers* and the status bar would stick at 100% for about half the time, before it finally finishes, only to say that steam servers are currently unavailible, and it did so every time after about 10 trys.
So i googled the problem, and found a couple unsuccessfull solutiions to my problem.
One was using a different code, the one on the back of the manual rather than the one on the sticker in the box. Well, i couldnt find a code on the manual because it didnt come with one, it came with a manual on a disc in a file. So i went through the file, and am still unsuccessfull in finding that code. From what i got through other threads, though is that on the"special forces edition" whatever that is, has a manual.
And, right now i am currently reinstalling everything, starting from the beginning, reinstalling everything... slowly... with my dial up...
But the game looks really good, and i cant return it opened *rolls eyes* so any help would be much appreciated please!!
