...dining rooms? I want to add this family of neutral tones more after seeing my daughter-in-law's condo. I am sick of the browns, golds, creams, but can't afford to replace the furniture, carpet, or trim. Our walls are a deep red.
I would start with priming your red walls and paint them white or grey... you can buy a rug in white grey or black to cover the carpet, and then paint your trim white...
the gold should be okay with the white and black...
good luck, paint isn't that expensive and you can get a rug pretty inexpensively.
