How do I improve my word-finding skills?

Basically, I have trouble retrieving words when I am in a conversation. It can even be simple words. I don't have any brain damage of any sort but I'm just looking for ways to improve that so I don't feel retarded because I have to stop in mid-sentence to try and figure out what work I'm trying to say. lol
