How do I hook up a VCR?

Okay. I have an old TV that's connected to an RF adapter, and I have a DVD player and a PS2 that work perfectly fine when I switch cables to and fro. Now, I'm trying to hook up a VCR in the same fashion (by using the three colored wires), and it isn't working. How would I hook it up? Am I forgetting something? Thanks in advance.
