How do I hook my VCR up to my TV?

I am the worst at all this kind of stuff so dont use big techno words please;). I have this little hole thing in the back of my TV and have two of the same looking things on the back of my VCR. My parents have all these wierd wires and so I took one that looked like it could screw in to these holes. I pluged one end into the "IN" hole on the back of the VCR and the other end into the TV hole. I am really sorry if your not following this (just ignore all if so)
No this wire is like a screw in thing
 
Were Those Wire Red, Yellow, and White?
Because Those Wires Are What Usually Connect Things To The TV or Visa Versa...
