how do i hood up my woofer to my car stereo?

ok i went and bought a woofer and then i got some speaker wire........when i open the dash to take out the radio it doesent have the red and black where you put the wire it had like red and yellow like on a tv........the stero is a jvc.........i need help on how to hook it up
